Welcome to 2010.
Here I am at a place called Green Island, Kuwait. The weather is very warm for winter, as you can see it is sunny and I don't have a jersey on.
Hope you are all enjoying your holidays and having a good rest before coming back to school in a couple of weeks. I look forward to hearing all your news and what classes and teachers you end up with.

Having lunch with Miss De Malmanche in a huge mall called The Avenues.
Hi from Cambridge English School. It's good to receive all your news but I'm still waiting to hear all the details about camp. Obviously you are all planning on making alot of money on your stalls... How many of you are in the Talent Quest? Did Miss Ritchie organise the Xmas Choir?
It is autumn nearly winter here now. No Autumn colours though as we only have date palms here which stay green all year round. We had alot of rain over the last 2 days. The temperature is in the 20s so quite nice but there are definitely some cold winds.
Next week the exams start which last through till the end of the year, then it's a 2 week break only. We will all go to AbuDahbi for a couple of days, I dont know how different it is from here but it will be good to leave Kuwait briefly.

Hi M5, not much has changed since the last time. Its still really hot here and also muggy. In our appartment block there is a swimming pool but unfortunately we cant use it and nobody is sure why. Things like that happen here. I've finally got the internet on in my office which makes things alot easier, but guess what, my cellphone has stopped working now. The beach isnt far away but it's a bit suspect as to wether it's safe or not- I mean clean. But alot of people do swim in it. We might have a picnic on the beach one night- it's too hot during the daytime. Look forward to hearing your news and how much money people are making. Did you know Kuwait is the second richest country in the world?Mrs T.
Hi from Kuwait...Things are really busy here and not much time to catch my breath. The day starts at school at 7.10am with a teachers meeting, then classes at 7.30. They have an assembly every day too and listen to the national anthem then do 3 cheers for Kuwait. Will try to get a recording of this, it's quite interesting to listen too. Also have some photos to download and will get around to that soon. Ben is really enjoying himself, he has added some things on to his class blog. Hope you all had a great holiday in spite of the weather. Have a good term and work hard. Athletics coming up soon. Hi to Sue. Keep up the choir and marimba practise.

Kapahaka girls: Rosie, Tamika and Danica
Our Inquiry topic: "How things work" started with looking at the inside of a piano...
How many simple machines in here?
Next, the children designed their own music instrument. Here's one of them. Check out the rest on the children's own pages...
Now what has William invented, and what sound will it make?
We have even made group compositions and performed them.
What a great variety!
